Parents can customize their kids’ experience by creating a profile for each child and telling the app each one’s age. Kids are guided through the experience by five talking animals, and parents can play along, too, by reading books with their kiddos or participating during activities. The app focuses on multiple learning areas, from literacy and language to logic and math. In the app’s store description, Khan Academy said these activities are “aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and Common Core Standards.” Appropriately called Khan Academy Kids, the free mobile app contains thousands of activities for kids aged 2-5, including content from Super Simple Songs, Bellwether Media, and National Geographic Young Explorer magazine. The original Khan Academy app can be used by both kids and adults, but as Cool Mom Tech reported, a new Khan Academy app was designed especially for young children. Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization with the goal of providing a “free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere.” The organization’s Khan Academy app contains over 10,000 videos and 150,000 interactive exercises designed to help users learn about math, science, economics, and other topics.
